We Survived!! Just about may I add. We spent last week at the National Ploughing Championships which was held in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly and what a week it was. The total attendance figure for the 2016 Championship came to a record breaking 283,000 over the 3 days with the SuperValu Tent taking in a quarter of that each day. This marks the most successful National Ploughing Championships in history.
We had the pleasure of spending the week in the SuperValu tent with 14 other fabulous Food Academy producers from all around Ireland. Our neighbours for the week, O’Flynns Gourmet Sausage, another Cork company kept us entertained for the week and were great fun, check out their Facebook page HERE. It was brilliant to meet other food producers from around Ireland such as Dr.Coys, Nutraplenish, HiRo and Synerchi to name but a few. Hector and the Food Academy Ambassadors were so good at keeping the crowds entertained and with Today FM broadcasting live from the tent, there was always a good buzz around. Last week marked the official launch of our dairy free ice creams and we were so delighted to get such great feedback from the public and we even sold out of our Coconilla (Vanilla and Coconut milk Dairy free Ice Cream) it was so popular. We would like to say a huge thank you to SuperValu and the Food Academy team for having us at the Ploughing this year and for all their help so far on our journey. The Food Academy currently has 322 producers live in stores all over Ireland and we were lucky enough to be part of a selected few getting the opportunity to showcase our brand and product at Ploughing 2016. The Food Academy is supporting 1500 jobs nationwide and deliver €25 million in retail sales. We are so thankful to be involved with such a great initiate, Thank you SuperValu!
